WAS is a leading manufacturer of special and ambulance vehicles. There are many reasons for this, most of which can be found in a WAS vehicle itself: the innovative technology, the perfectly fitting ergonomics, the high-quality workmanship made in Germany and the expertise of the employees. A WAS vehicle makes rescuers stronger and operations more efficient.
For decades, we have been providing customised, innovative solutions in the construction of special-purpose vehicles – from ambulances and emergency vehicles to complex special-purpose vehicles. We put people at the centre of what we do, whether it's in terms of the safety and efficiency of our vehicles or the way we operate as a company. Not everything that customers and rescue workers appreciate about WAS can be built into our vehicles: for example, the contact person who is personally there for the customer and accompanies them from the idea to its realisation. Or the qualified technical support that provides fast and reliable assistance. Fixed contact persons and specialists are the extras that keep vehicles and rescuers operational – for years to come. The WAS factor
More than 450 employees in Emsbüren manufacture sophisticated special and ambulance vehicles. Developers, technicians, electricians, vehicle builders and other specialists work hand in hand here. Because 90% of the work involved in producing special vehicles from WAS is still done by hand. And so, detail by detail, a high-performance basic vehicle is transformed into something very special: a special vehicle from WAS. In total, more than 800 people work for WAS worldwide, working to ensure your safety.
