Quality in vehicle construction
WAS sets standards for special vehicles
WAS's quality standards place considerable demands on materials and employees – from the development of an idea to the service for the finished product. The fact that we can maintain our WAS quality across the entire production process and across vehicle series requires continuous and seamless quality management.
In 1997, we were the first company in the industry to introduce a quality management system of this kind. It fulfils the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001, as well as the German and international road traffic legislation. And it meets our standards and those of others: ambulance vehicles from WAS pass tests and meet requirements such as DIN EN 1789. And WAS bodies are the only ones of their kind to pass a rollover test according to DIN 13500/ECE-R66. Furthermore, accident statistics confirm that WAS special vehicles are at the forefront of safety.
At WAS, we are constantly striving to improve quality in response to the growing challenges faced by emergency medical services, law enforcement and customs officers. We draw inspiration from those who cross borders, such as the aerospace industry. We have developed and patented the vacuum process for our particularly light and stable box bodies based on their model.
This quality awareness also creates trust beyond our customer base. This is how we have become a certified partner of Europe's leading automobile manufacturers, for example. This gives them the freedom to choose the brand of vehicle that they like best or with which they have had the best experiences. We then turn it into their very special special vehicles.
WAS offers security through superior standards, high-tech solutions and rigorous testing that goes above and beyond the norm to protect emergency services personnel and customers.
