Production start at EMS Panels -

a joint venture for the future

The new EMS Panels production hall at the Emsbüren site has been officially in operation since April 2025. Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH (WAS) and Fahrzeugbau Dülmer GmbH have established the joint venture on a site covering over 4,500 square metres with the aim of expanding the production of composite panels for use in vehicle bodies.

With this investment, both companies are reaffirming their long-term commitment to the location and at the same time responding to the increasing demand in the field of vehicle bodies for rescue and special-purpose vehicles. The aim is to scale up production, shorten delivery times and at the same time create modern, sustainable jobs in the region.

The new hall is energy-efficient, in line with the KfW 40 standard – supplied by a photovoltaic system and a heat pump – and also sets new technological standards.

Sustainable technology meets well-thought-out processes

The entire production process at EMS Panels is designed for efficiency, precision and sustainability. This involves several coordinated manufacturing steps.

At the centre of the new process is the automated adhesive application system, which significantly improves the efficiency and quality of the bonding. The finished panels are then transferred to the WAS production lines for final assembly, where they are further processed into complete vehicle bodies.

Outlook

The introduction of the adhesive application system and the entire structure of the EMS panels mark a significant milestone for the two partner companies WAS and Fahrzeugbau Dülmer. The new production site in Emsbüren is exemplary of modern, sustainable and future-proof manufacturing in the field of vehicle construction and composite technology – and at the same time strengthens the economic position of the region.
