The last WAS 300 RTW for Egypt:
A chapter closes

Group picture in front of the last WAS 300

After several years of intensive production, we recently completed the last WAS 300 ambulance from the major order for 1,000 vehicles for the Egyptian Ambulance Organisation (EAO). This special delivery marks the end of an important chapter in our company history.

Our customer is currently inspecting and accepting the last batch of 135 vehicles. As soon as approval has been granted, the ambulances will be collected one by one and brought to Antwerp for shipment, from where they will be transported to Egypt.

Farewell to the Wietmarschen site

The completion of these vehicles marks not only the end of a major order for us, but also the end of an era in Wietmarschen. These ambulances are the last that we have built in our Wietmarschen plant. For several decades, this location has been a central part of our production and has contributed significantly to making WAS what it is today.

At the end of September, we will finally clear out the plant in Wietmarschen and in the future we will concentrate fully on our central production sites in Emsbüren and on our branch in Poland (WAS Polska in Ostaszewo). This decision will enable us to bundle our processes, optimise logistics and respond even more flexibly to the increasing demands of the international market.

A new chapter begins

Although the completion of this project and our departure from Wietmarschen marks the end of an era, we are looking to the future with confidence. We will take the experience and success we have gained in Wietmarschen with us to our new production facilities. We will continue to build high-quality emergency vehicles for our customers worldwide here – more efficiently, in a more centralised location and with a focus on the future.
