WAS wins bronze medal
in the EcoVadis sustainability rating
Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH (WAS) has once again submitted documents for the internationally recognised EcoVadis sustainability rating and achieved an excellent result: with 64 out of a maximum of 100 points, according to the EcoVadis evaluation, we are among the top 35% of companies worldwide that have been audited by EcoVadis (as of December 2024). WAS was awarded a bronze medal for this sustainability performance.
According to EcoVadis, WAS has, among other things, a structured sustainability concept and comprehensive sustainability reporting. Within our industry, ‘manufacture of bodies (coachwork) and trailers’, we even rank in the top 11% of the companies evaluated.
Sustainability as an important factor in the supply chain
Sustainability standards and CSR performance in the supply chain are becoming increasingly important for purchasing organisations. More and more customers are demanding detailed information about their suppliers' sustainability performance, often making this a prerequisite for awarding contracts. WAS is in a good position to continue to meet high standards in the areas of environmental management, ethics, working conditions and sustainable procurement and to meet the growing demands of the market.

About Ecovadis
EcoVadis is an independent, leading global sustainability ratings platform that helps companies objectively assess and transparently communicate their sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. Using a proven and scientifically based approach, EcoVadis analyses the environmental, social and ethical practices of companies along their entire value chain.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the principles of the UN Global Compact and the ISO 26000 guidelines for social responsibility. This comprehensive basis ensures that the assessment covers the most important aspects of modern corporate governance, from environmental friendliness and resource efficiency to working conditions, human rights and ethical business behaviour.
For each assessment, EcoVadis provides a detailed analysis that takes into account both the company's self-disclosure and external evidence. This approach enables a differentiated assessment that reveals both a company's strengths and areas for improvement. The result is an easy-to-understand scorecard that provides a comprehensive overview of the company's sustainability performance while also offering specific recommendations for optimisation.
More than 150,000 companies worldwide rely on EcoVadis to measure and communicate their sustainability performance. Companies use the ratings not only to improve their internal processes, but also to demonstrate transparency and responsibility to their stakeholders, including investors, customers and partners. In addition, working with EcoVadis serves as a basis for many companies to analyse the sustainability standards of their supply chains and identify potential risks.
Thanks to the global reach and cross-industry relevance of the platform, EcoVadis has established itself as an indispensable tool for companies that see sustainability as an integral part of their business strategy.
