Ergonomics at WAS
for ambulances and special-purpose vehicles

At WAS, we believe it is extremely important that our rescue vehicles not only feature the latest technology but also meet the highest ergonomic standards. Our goal is to make your working day as pleasant and safe as possible. That is why we rely on well-thought-out concepts and innovative solutions that noticeably simplify operations.

For example, the handles are optimised for both left- and right-handed users to ensure a smooth operation. They can be fully engaged even when wearing work gloves, thus enabling safe handling. Seats, access, operation, loading aids and the interior headroom are designed according to the latest ergonomic findings. These measures not only ensure trouble-free operation, but also minimise the risk of accidents for the rescue personnel.

Ambulance table
WAS Hydro Universal

The ambulance table WAS Hydro Universal is another innovation offering maximum flexibility and ergonomic working conditions. Thanks to the stepless height adjustment, the table can be individually adapted to the requirements of the job, so that medical care can be provided comfortably and safely, whether you are standing or sitting.

Comfort
Optimised headroom in box vans

Our RTW and KTW box bodies offer optimised headroom, making working in the interior more comfortable. The generous interior height allows the rescue personnel to move around freely, which is particularly easy on the joints during longer operations and increases work efficiency.

Emergency vehicles with ergonomic advantage
Safety and comfort in perfect harmony

  • Step treads for safe entry and exit: Entry and exit are crucial for speed and safety during use. Our ergonomically designed step treads provide a firm hold and make it easier to access the vehicle – no matter what the conditions.
  • Control panel on the attendant seat: The new control panel on the attendant seat gives you control over all relevant vehicle functions. It enables simple and convenient control without the attendant having to take their eyes off the patient.
  • Ergonomic seating positions: Our seats in the patient compartment are positioned to allow comfortable treatment even when seated. This is particularly important for longer transport operations, where the ambulance crew has to work flexibly.
  • WAS Door Assist: The WAS Door Assist closing aid ensures that the vehicle doors can be closed safely and reliably with minimal effort. This is not only practical, but also a further contribution to ergonomics in the hectic pace of day-to-day operations.
  • Anti-slip and low-vibration box floor: the floor of our vehicles is not only anti-slip, but also designed to be low-vibration. This is easy on the joints of patients and helpers alike and contributes to safe and stable transport.
