Heating and air conditioning units

Heating and air conditioning units from WAS
for ambulances and special-purpose vehicles

When it comes to climatically challenging environmental conditions, be it hot, super-hot or even very cold, WAS still knows how to move forward, always complying with OEM body guidelines and all internationally relevant technical guidelines.

For example, our case is constructed from special materials to achieve perfect insulation values when the final destination is particularly climatically challenging. This is only possible because WAS develops, designs and builds the case in-house and does not purchase it from an external source.

In addition, WAS can equip the patient compartment with a separate 230 V air conditioning system at the customer's request. In doing so, we take particular care to ensure that the 230 V AC system is completely independent and not coupled to the motor-driven AC system, so that in the worst case (total technical failure of one of the two AC systems), at least one functioning system is available.

WAS also uses intelligent systems that automatically switch off the engine when the air conditioning is running while the vehicle is idling or stationary, as soon as a certain temperature is reached. If the interior temperature rises again after a while, the system detects the temperature and switches the engine back on. The material, fuel and maintenance costs are thus drastically reduced, especially in the context of large ambulance fleets.
