4-Stretcher Ambulance Mercedes-Benz Unimog Box Body 12.5 T

The WAS 500 4x4 4-stretcher ambulance has been specially developed for use in civil protection and disaster relief. This highly off-road capable vehicle, based on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5023, enables the provision of medical care and the transport of patients in regions with destroyed or difficult-to-access infrastructure – where conventional ambulances reach their limits.

With its exceptional off-road capability, a wading depth of up to 1,200 mm and high ground clearance, the vehicle is particularly well-suited for operations following natural disasters, floods, forest fires or in rough terrain. The 4-stretcher patient compartment allows for the simultaneous treatment and transport of up to four lying patients. Two standard stretcher places are crash-tested and approved in accordance with current requirements, whilst two further places serve as additional emergency transport capacity.

The vehicle concept focuses on the rapid rescue, initial treatment and stabilisation of patients directly in the disaster area, as well as their subsequent transport to handover points or further emergency services outside the danger zone. The ergonomic design of the patient compartment enables efficient patient care even under difficult operational conditions. In addition, the vehicle offers extensive storage and supply solutions for medical equipment as well as recovery and rescue equipment.
