Our lightweight boxes are convincing in all important aspects of the procurement of a modern ambulance. This is because an emergency ambulance with a WAS box body often scores not only in terms of life cycle costs, but also in terms of flexibility, ergonomics, consumption and total weight. We have also been realising lean concepts with a total weight of 3.5 t with the WAS lightweight box body for some time.
The WAS 500 emergency ambulance, based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, combines optimal use of space, ergonomic working conditions and the highest safety standards. The generous patient compartment provides a hygienic environment and enables safe treatments. New, ergonomically designed furniture with rounded corners and illuminated grab handles make the work of the ambulance crew easier. A practical access compartment on the front right allows rapid access to the emergency medical bags, while the integrated WAS high-visibility warning system ensures maximum safety.

The trend towards lightweight box bodies is revolutionising patient transport. These modern vehicles not only offer lower procurement costs, but also the option of reusing the box body on a new chassis. With a gross weight of under 3.5 tonnes, they offer a spacious patient compartment and optimised storage space for equipment. The internal dimensions of 1960 mm width, 3200 mm length and 1900 mm height ensure manoeuvrability and efficiency, while medical equipment such as scoop stretchers and CombiCarriers can be conveniently stored in the external storage compartment.

The WAS 500 VSAV combines state-of-the-art technology and safety with a lightweight aluminium structure and generous interior volume. Its ergonomic design and compact size make it ideal for intensive operation in urban areas. With an excellent turning circle, low fuel consumption and energy-efficient LED technology, it offers optimal manoeuvrability and efficiency. The high-quality materials, as well as the hygienic, easy-to-clean interior, guarantee the highest standards for transport and patient care.
The WAS 500 emergency ambulance RTW Volkswagen Crafter box body 4.3 T offers outstanding ergonomics and safety with WAS Door Assist for all doors and some outer compartments and a new generation of furniture with large rounded corners. This is rounded off by an aluminium supply duct and automatic air conditioning, which ensure optimal comfort and efficiency.
Our all-terrain box body ambulance is perfect for emergency rescue in natural disasters and in areas that are difficult to access. Equipped with all-wheel drive, differential locks and a robust suspension, it offers optimal traction and stability on challenging terrain. The intelligent storage concept enables ergonomic removal of stretchers, oxygen cylinders and tools. The mechanical-pneumatic lifting supports facilitate loading and unloading despite the high floor height of the box, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times.
