WAS 900 Special Vehicles
Disaster relief, public authority and other vehicles
Special vehicles for special operations.
From the emergency medical equipment vehicle to the command vehicle and the E-Ambulance, each of our special-purpose vehicles is specially designed for its tasks. The more specialised the tasks become, the more apparent the advantages of the WAS box bodies. Our box bodies, manufactured using the WAS vacuum process. The WAS lightweight box bodies save weight, allow great flexibility in the planning of equipment and offer the greatest possible safety. These are properties that are just as much in demand for disaster relief as they are for municipal health care.

The WAS 900 CBRN exploration vehicle is a state-of-the-art mobile measurement and analysis vehicle for dangerous substance situations. With integrated sensor technology, powerful IT infrastructure and specialised equipment, it supports emergency services in the rapid identification, assessment and documentation of CBRN hazards. Its ergonomic interior, combined with state-of-the-art communication and measurement technology, enables efficient work under time pressure – ideal for fire brigades, civil defence, factory fire brigades and NBC units. The robust all-wheel-drive Sprinter ensures mobility even off the beaten track, while the well-designed storage space concept safely accommodates all important equipment.

The WAS 900 personnel carrier 4x4 DEKON V stands for self-sufficient operational capability and maximum off-road performance. It safely transports personnel and equipment to locations that are inaccessible to conventional vehicles. The combination of powerful all-wheel drive, well-designed interior structure and robust technology makes it an indispensable emergency vehicle for crisis response and hazard control. Whether used as a decontamination vehicle, command post or personnel carrier, this model combines reliability, comfort and functionality at the highest level, making it the perfect solution for civil protection and disaster control.

The WAS 900 incident response vehicle based on the MAN TGE 5.5-tonne chassis is the perfect solution for fire brigades, disaster control units and emergency services that depend on fast material logistics and maximum operational readiness. The robust box body with a well-designed shelving system allows for clear structuring of all operational resources – every tool has its fixed place and is immediately accessible. Thanks to state-of-the-art lighting and camera technology, including a Whelen NightOwl light mast and 360° thermal imaging camera, emergency services can maintain an overview even in the most demanding situations. Ergonomic workstations, functional storage compartments and flexible interior solutions make the WAS 900 a versatile, operation-optimised vehicle – well thought-out down to the last detail and reliable in an emergency.

In times of increasing natural disasters, off-road capability plays a particularly important role in emergency rescue operations in the event of catastrophes and major incidents. Our new ambulance van is specially designed for use in remote or difficult terrain conditions and sets new standards in this respect. The vehicle has a well-thought-out and spacious storage concept, which includes two stretcher storage areas in the patient compartment. A second stretcher, two 11-litre oxygen cylinders and rescue tools are conveniently located in external and underfloor storage compartments for ergonomic removal.

The WAS 900 disaster relief vehicle, an emergency medical equipment vehicle on a MAN TGL 10 T chassis, is a central supply unit for disaster relief. With an optimised storage space layout and a flexible shelving system, it offers secure and well-organised storage of all equipment so that the necessary materials are quickly ready for use. Ideal for the efficient care of injured people in an accident or disaster.

The WAS 900 command vehicle based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 5 T is designed for the command and coordination of tactical fire brigade or rescue service units. With a three-part box body, it offers specialised areas for radio communication, operational briefings and technical equipment. Equipped with the latest communication technology and modular, expandable radio workstations, it enables efficient command and control and interference-free on-site meetings. Ideal for comprehensive operational communication and documentation.

The WAS 900 Mobile Medical Practice on an Iveco Daily 3.5 T is a special mobile practice designed to meet the challenges of demographic change. With a modular equipment system, it is suitable for various medical specialties, providing care at major events or mobile pre- and aftercare. The practice offers optimal working conditions thanks to high-quality equipment such as LED doctor's spots, auxiliary air heating, air conditioning and an energy-saving design. Thanks to its low total weight of 3.5 T, it can be driven with a car driving licence and used flexibly.

The new All Terrain Command Vehicle from WAS and GEWA, based on the INEOS Grenadier, combines functional performance with uncompromising off-road capability. With 264 mm ground clearance and 800 mm fording depth, it offers maximum flexibility in difficult terrain. The rear extension ensures easily accessible equipment, while the warning and signalling technology can be controlled via versatile controls.
