The last WAS 300 ambulance from the large order for 1000 ambulances for the Egyptian Ambulance Organisation was completed a few days ago by the WAS colleagues in WAS Plant II in Wietmarschen. Currently, the last batch of 135 vehicles is being tested and accepted by our customer. Then the vehicles will be collected one by one and shipped to Antwerp for shipment to Egypt.
This also marks the end of an era for WAS: these are not only the last ambulances of this major order, but also the last vehicles we still built in Wietmarschen. At the end of September, we will have finally cleared out all the halls here and in future will only build at our central locations in Emsbüren and at WAS Polska in Ostaszewo.
